A couple of years ago we went on an extended camping trip. We took the circuitous route as always, taking over 8,300 miles to get from Maine to the California coast.

Eventually we left the beautiful coast of California and headed toward the Salton Sea, buying some strawberries at a farmers market along the way. We stayed at a hot springs RV park for a few days of soaking in geothermal mineral water; great for the body and spirit. One hot, sunny afternoon (just happened to be my birthday) we decided to make strawberry milkshakes. We bought a pint of vanilla ice cream, got out the 12V blender, and went to work.
Cut the strawberries, add a little sugar, and let sit for 20-30 minutes. Now is the time to get some ice cream if you don't already have it.
Put the strawberries in the blender, connect to the 12V port, and blend until smooth.
Add the ice cream, half cup at a time so you don't overwork the blender.
Pour into fine plastic “glassware” and enjoy; a great way to spend the afternoon.
